Our latest Mac update includes some major improvements to Smart Layout — bringing it to groups and Artboards, along with a host of handy improvements. This release also includes a number of other smaller improvements and fixes.
Better sorting and filtering
Tags: Web App
When you’re browsing or searching for documents in the web app, you can now filter the view to show only documents with prototypes or documents you can edit. Within projects, you can ungroup collections to display all documents individually in your results. We’ve also added a new sorting feature, to help you organize your documents by name, date created, or last updated. Whichever you choose, you can sort your results in ascending or descending order.
New sharing modal
Tags: Web App
We‘ve redesigned our sharing modal to give you more control over what you share inside and outside your Workspace. Instead of a combined list, we’ve split access settings into three tabs, giving you a quick overview of what you’re sharing, where, and with whom. This update also lets you invite Guests to projects as Viewers, making it easier to share your work with people outside the Workspace.
Dark mode
Tags: Web App
We’ve enabled dark mode in the web app. You can choose between Light or Dark or have the web app match your system settings. To try it out, open your Account menu (that shows your profile image) at the bottom of the left sidebar, then select an option from the Appearance menu.
Available on the Mac App Store
Tags: Mac App
Sketch is once again available to download from the Mac App Store. We’re happy to be back, and it looks like Apple are too.
Commenting on iPhone and iPad
Tags: iOS App
You can now view, create and respond to comments on your iPhone and iPad. This update also brings a full Canvas view to the iPhone, Artboard view to the iPad, as well as Mirroring support for the iPad.
Bug fixes and improvements
Tags: Mac App
Our latest Mac update (v98) focuses on fixing some bugs, polishing a few existing areas of the app, and improving the reliability of our Figma file importer.
New Prototype Player
Tags: Web App
We’ve rolled out a brand new prototype player on the web app and rebuilt it completely from the ground up. You’ll see some big improvements to loading times when you test your prototypes, and complex designs now display more accurately.
Collections
Tags: Mac App / Web App / iOS App
Introducing a new level of organization for your Workspace. With Collections, you can group documents inside of Projects. Just like Projects, Collections are workflow-agnostic — so you can organize documents using whatever groupings suit you and your collaborators best. Collections are available right now in the latest version of the Mac, iOS and web apps.
View & Mirror — now on iPad
Tags: iOS App
Sketch View & Mirror (our iOS companion app) now supports viewing local documents (from Files or third-party apps), offline mode and Apple’s Handoff feature. Better still, it’s now available for iPad, where you can browse your designs in a beautiful full Canvas view and see all the details — whether they’re on an Artboard or not.
Selection improvements
Tags: Mac App
We’ve spent some time improving all the little interactions that might bug you or feel inconsistent when it comes to selection and dragging in the Mac app. Overall, it should feel easier and more predictable to select layers by clicking on their visible parts, or move layers by dragging within their selection box. Check out the video above for a walkthrough of these changes.
Multi-layer renaming
Tags: Mac App
You can now select multiple layers and use Edit > Rename (⌘R) to rename your entire selection, with support for modifier tokens and optional matching of portions of the layers’ names. You can also use Edit > Rename All (⌥⌘R) to rename all the layers on your current page, with the option to filter for specific layers to rename. Finally, you can quickly rename another selection of layers using the last renaming pattern you used via Edit > Rename with Last Format (⌥⇧⌘R).

Our latest update to the Mac app introduces Collections, multi-layer renaming, a new save dialog, and a whole host of selection and dragging improvements.
New save dialog
Tags: Mac App
We’ve completely redesigned the Save dialog, giving you more context about your Workspace, easier organization, and full support for the new Collections feature. This is now the default way to save in Sketch. You can still save locally to your Mac via the “Save to Your Mac” button in the Save dialog, or via File > Save to Your Mac. You can also change the default save and open location under the General tab in Sketch’s Settings.
Experimental features menu
Tags: Mac App
We’ve added a new Labs tab to Sketch’s settings, where you can enable experimental features. These features may not be 100% complete, but they’re ready for you to try and share your feedback on to help us shape them. We’re kicking things off with a big one — Smart Layout in groups. Enable it today to try Smart Layout outside of Symbols and let us know what you think.
Resolve Comments
Tags: Mac App / Web App
Conversation complete? Discussion done? Details debated? You can now mark comments (and their replies) as resolved in the web and Mac apps. Resolved comments disappear from view, but you can always bring them back (and reopen them) via the View menu in the Mac app or the drop-down menu in the web app’s sidebar.

Commenting in the Mac app
Tags: Mac App
Say hello to commenting on the Mac! Share your feedback and thoughts right in the context of your designs while you‘re designing. Now, no matter where you comment or reply, your conversations will always stay in sync.
Templates
Tags: Mac App
You can now turn any document into a template that everyone in your Workspace can use — ideal for repeatable tasks or creating consistent document setups. We’ve also added a bunch of beautiful, free and customizable templates — from presentations and social posts, to mockups and business cards — to help kickstart your next project. Check them out in the Workspace window (⌘O).
Import Figma files to Sketch
Tags: Mac App
You can now open Figma files in Sketch! Simply head to File > Open Local document (⇧⌘O) and choose your .fig file, or drag it over the Sketch icon in the Dock, and we’ll handle the rest.
Smart Layout: better directionality
Tags: Mac App
We’re hard at work on improving Smart Layout and, in this update, you’ll find that right-to-left and bottom-to-top directions now behave exactly like their reverse counterparts (left-to-right and top-to-bottom).
Smart Layout: more predictable and reliable
Tags: Mac App
When you hide nested Symbol instances, we now preserve and remove spacing in a way that’s more reliable and predictable. Stay tuned for more updates!
Document Libraries
Tags: Mac App
When you work with lots of Libraries, places like the Insert window can get a little crowded. So now, you can just enable the Libraries you need for specific documents—keeping only the Components you need. Best of all? Anyone who opens the document will have these libraries automatically installed and available.
